Cutter Terms

Regular: Where a flat end on the lead or wire is not necessary.

Semi-flush: When a small peak is allowed on the end of the lead. This
type of cut is most commonly used in commercial electronic assembly.

Flush: Where a very small or almost perfectly flat lead is necessary. This cut is used in military and medical applications. It produces the least amount of mechanical shock to the component. Also a must when conformal coating is used so that the coating is not pierced by sharp leads.
